Machinists using collet pad jaws are able to maximize their chuck capabilities and investment by taking advantage of both chuck and collet pad work including the ability to run material that is hex or square in shape.
Dillon Manufacturing, Inc. offers a complete line of both S-Type and Warner & Swasey type collet pads. Collet pad shapes include round, hex, and square with both smooth and serrated gripping surfaces available. The line also includes collet pad top jaws and W&S solid emergency collet pads.

Dillon High Performance Jaw Nuts and Keys Improve Chuck Safety and Accuracy
Springfield, OH – With the advancement of machine tool technology including greater horsepower, larger material cuts, and higher machine tool speeds, the stress and mechanical forces upon jaw nuts and t-nuts being used within these operating conditions has greatly increased. Jaws nuts and keys made from case hardened 1018 CRS can fracture, crack, and break under high speed machine stress loads causing damaged workpieces and chucks, and endangering operators. Manufactured from 4140 heat treated steel, Dillon Jaw Nuts and Keys provide superior wear resistance, impact resistance, higher tensile strength, and extended jaw nut life. Operator safety and chuck life are greatly improved by eliminating the use of low carbon jaws nuts and t-nut in the machining process.
Dillon Jaw Nuts, T-nuts, and Keys are available to fit all popular power chucks from 6” in diameter to 24” in diameter including Forkhardt, Gamet, Howa, Kitigawa, Matsumoto (MMK), Nikko, Pratt Burnerd, Rohm, Samchully, Schuck, SMW, SMW-Autoblok, and more. Dillon Jaw Forming Rings Provide Uniform Pressure on Jaws for Consistent Bore
Springfield, OH –Dillon jaw forming rings are easy-to-use tools that allow soft jaws to be machined precisely and thus grip the intended workpiece more firmly. These proven jaw rings provide uniform pressure on all jaws, for a consistent bore. Machining the jaws at the same clamping pressure used to hold parts yields higher accuracy. Available in adjustable or chuck-diameter-specific styles, both with no-tools attachment. The Dillon jaw forming ring compensates for “jaw lift”, even in worn chucks, which results in better parts concentricity. Use of this device will provide a jaw surface true to the machine centerline, reduce set-up times, and increase up-times for running machined parts. Dillon Jaws support a wide variety of industries including aerospace, agriculture, automotive, consumers, coal, oil and gas, construction, machine tools, mining, paper, rail and wind energy.
Jaw forming rings are available for 5”, 6”, 8”, 10” and 12” power chucks, or in adjustable versions for 5-8”, 6-10”, and 8-12” chucks. Self-centering action provides equal pressure on all jaws.

Dillon Soft Blank Top Jaws Feature Easy-Locating Features for Consistent Part Clamping
Springfield, OH – Soft jaw blanks from Dillon Jaws feature a milled surface on the jaw
end, opposite to the clamping surface, which serves as an easy-locating feature. This datum serves as a location point for positioning the counter-bored holes and the jaws’ serrations resulting in exact dimensional matching of Dillon jaw sets. These features reduce set-up times, aid concentric performance, provide better chuck balance, and have a longer jaw life because of the increased jaw accuracies. As a result of having established surfaces in relation to the jaw serrations, Dillon Chuck Jaws consistently perform as a standard workholding component for turned or bored parts.
Available in 1018 steel, and 6061 aluminum as well as 4140, 8620 and A2, brass, delrin, or stainless steel to suit virtually any CNC or manual chuck project involving turned or bored parts. They are ideal for second operation finishing work such as shafts, gear blanks, wheel hub and bearings, and more.

New Dillon Jaw Force Gauges Measure Productive and Safe Grip on Workpieces
Springfield, OH – New Jaw Force Gauges from Dillon Manufacturing allow users to accurately measure the force applied to each chuck jaw independently, so that problems can be diagnosed and corrected before a failure occurs. This reading in pounds of chucking force per jaw is the holding force available for that specific jaw (rather than a total force of two or three jaws as other gauges measure). While poorly gripped parts can be dislodged by tool pressure, resulting in production losses and an unsafe operation, the Jaw Force Gauge allows manufacturers to cut production losses by verifying rated jaw force, identify potential safety hazards, and establish a maintenance schedule. With a force range from 0-30,000 pounds, simple-to-install and easy-to-use Dillon Jaw Force Gauges are ideal for chucks from 6” to 18” (other chucks to maximum 25,000 lbs. rated force per jaw).
With this proven product, measurements can be taken, with results compared to determine if, for example, the chuck does not meet manufacturers established jaw force ratings because they require lubrication, or a drawbar/drawtube adjustment. It also helps to identify if internal chuck parts are worn or broken or, if chuck jaws are not obtaining full travel, and may need disassembly and cleaning. It also helps users determine if an air or hydraulic actuator requires adjustment to correct leakage or bypass, or if line pressure needs adjustment for proper part chucking. Ideal for use with chucks from a wide variety of manufacturers, Dillon Jaw Force Gauges keep chucks operating at full force for maximum production, and service life. Each Jaw Force Gauge sold by Dillon includes detailed instructions for proper set up and use.
Dillon Manufacturing, Inc. manufactures a complete line of standard and custom workholding solutions including chuck jaws, chucks, soft jaws, hard jaws, collet pad jaw systems, chuck lubrication, and more. All products are made in the USA and Dillon is ISO 9000:2008 registered.

Dillon HPG500 Boundary Lubricant is Ideal for High-end Manual and Power Chucks
Springfield, OH – Dillon Chucks and Jaws HPG500 – a premium boundary lubricant that prevents metal-to-metal contact under high load and slow speed conditions – is ideal for either high-end manual chucks or power chucks. This premium, high-performance NLDI Grade 2, lubricating grease has exceptional mechanical stability, very high load carrying capacity, and excellent water and moisture resistance. It has a water washout rating of less than 3 % – making it one of the most water resistant products available. Plus, its unique formulation gives it outstanding rust and corrosion resistance, even in the presence of a synthetic and oil based coolant environment. This chuck lubricating grease handles high loads, and provides long term corrosion protection under the most hostile conditions. Economical HPG500 is available by the tube, in 10- or 50-tube cases, or as a greasing set containing 2 tubes of grease, a grease gun and a grease adaptor.
The environmentally friendly formulation contains no heavy metals or other environmentally undesirable materials such as compounds containing antimony, barium, lead, chlorine, phenols, or phosphorus. This lithium-free formula does not react negatively when contacting the water contained in water based coolants – as opposed to lubricants with lithium which cause lithium build-up on the internal workings of the chuck.
An all-purpose industrial lubricant, HPG500 can be used in bearings, bushings, slides, pivots, tracks, etc., – all important engineering components of manual and power chucks. It is recommended wherever high lubricity, EP (Extreme Pressure) properties, mechanical stability, rust and corrosion protection, water washout protection, and good oxidation stability are required.
Essential for the safe operation, and maintaining maximum gripping pressure of chucks, HPG500 is available in 14oz tubes. It can be purchased by the tube, in cases of 10 or 50 each. A greasing set, consisting of a grease gun, 2 tubes of grease and one grease adaptor fitting, is also available. HPG500 is also safe to use in your machine centers that require EPI grease.
